The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology and both local and international expertise to transform Nigeria’s healthcare system.
Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima made this known during the official inauguration of Fakeeh Care Group’s representative office in Abuja.
Represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Public Health, Office of the Vice President, Dr. Uju Anwukah, the vice president described the inauguration as a testament to the government’s dedication to fostering strategic partnerships that enhance healthcare delivery and improve citizens’ well-being.
Dr. Anwukah stated that the entry of Fakeeh Care Group, an institution with over 40 years of experience in providing quality healthcare services across Saudi Arabia, Dubai, and the broader Middle East, represents a significant investment in Nigeria’s health sector.
She emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for healthcare reform, contributing to health security, human capital development, and economic growth.
She maintained that the establishment of Fakeeh Care Group’s operations in Nigeria is expected to significantly reduce medical tourism, saving the country valuable foreign exchange reserves
The Chief Executive Officer of Fakeeh Care Group, Dr. Mohaymen Abdelghany, stated that the organization plans to establish smart hospitals across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
He said the hospitals would incorporate cutting-edge technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to provide digital healthcare solutions and consultancy services, ensuring that quality medical services are more accessible to Nigerians.
