The Kano State Government has pledged commitment towards improving the lives of people with special needs, particularly those affected by spinal cord injuries.
The Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, stated this during a training for SCIAN in Kano.
Comrade Waiya emphasized the government’s commitment to providing special assistance to alleviate the hardships faced by spinal cord injury victims and their families.
He also announced plans to collaborate with the Spinal Cord Injuries Association to provide training in ICT and other fields, empowering victims with skills and knowledge to improve their quality of life.

The Commissioner commended the families of spinal cord injury victims for their dedication and resilience in caring for their loved ones.
He assured them that the State Government remains committed to providing continuous support to ease their challenges.

The event, organized by the Spinal Cord Injuries Association SCIAN in collaboration with MacArthur Foundation, aimed to provide essential materials to spinal cord injury victims and create opportunities for their empowerment.
The event also featured representatives from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, and the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, who advised attendees on preventing drug abuse and reducing accidents that can cause spinal cord injuries.
