Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured the families of the deceased military personnel that the sacrifices of the fallen heroes would not be in vain.
Governor Oborevwori stated this while addressing journalists shortly after participating in the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Cenotaph in Asaba.
The Governor, who led other top government functionaries, military, and paramilitary personnel to lay wreaths in honour of the nation’s fallen heroes, stressed the significance of the event in commemorating the sacrifices of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
He gave an assurance that his administration would continue to support the widows of the fallen heroes as well as the retired and serving military personnel in the state.
The Delta State Governor urged Nigerians to demonstrate enduring commitment to the welfare of widows and families of the country’s fallen heroes.
Highlight of the ceremony was the laying of wreaths by the Governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, military commanders, and the Commissioner of Police, religious leaders and the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Delta State, Retired Colonel Boniface Ojei.
