The Kebbi State Government, has rescheduled the 61st Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival from February 2025 to February 2026.
The Chairman of the Committee and the State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, who stated this while briefing newsmen said the decision was reached after due consultations with all the critical stakeholders.
He stated that, the decision to reschedule the festival was necessitated by the dire need to carry a befitting and permanent repairs of the structures at the festival’s venues.
According to the Deputy Governor, the decision was sequel to the ongoing road dualization and a myriad of other developmental projects in Argungu township.
The Committee Chairman said that, the state government was firmly committed to organizing the best fishing and cultural activities towards showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the people of the state in 2026
He appreciated the understanding and cooperation of the public, stakeholders and the participants in this regard.
