Kwara state government has expressed concern over the unusual flooding of several rice farmland in Shonga, Edu local government area of Kwara state.
A statement signed by the governor spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye in illorin says a committee has been set up to investigate the cause of the flooding .
According to him, the committee is expected to visit the affected areas on a fact-finding mission.
It says condolence message will also be delivered to the Emir of Shonga Dr. Haliru Yahyah and the victims in the community.
According to the statement, Members of the committee will be led by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the state governor, Princess Bukola Babalola, Commissioner for Agriculture, Mrs Oloruntoyosi Thomas, Commissioner for Environment, Hajiya Nafisat Musa Buge, Special Adviser on Special Duties and SSA Security to the Governor Alhaji Muhyideen Aliu, among others.
