The Director General, Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo says, the Authority (NCAA) is seeking to bridge the gap between airlines, passengers and revamping the industry.
To achieve this purpose aimed at addressing the longstanding issues between airlines and passengers, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA organized a consumer protection national stakeholders’ summit in Lagos.
The summit comes amidst increasing complaints from passengers regarding flight delays, cancellations, and poor customer service.
Airlines, on the other hand, cite operational challenges and economic factors as reasons for these issues.
During his opening remarks, the NCAA Acting Director General Civil Aviation, Captain Chris Najomo acknowledged the growing tension between airlines and passengers, stating that the industry must prioritize the needs of both parties.
Captain Najomo represented by the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Michael Achimugu, emphasized the importance of open and honest dialogue to identify and resolve the underlying issues.
Captain Najomo stressed the need for accountability and follow-through on commitments made during the summit.
He urged all stakeholders to prioritize passenger safety and satisfaction, and to work together to improve the overall travel experience.
The gathering brought together key players in the aviation industry, including airline representatives, airport authorities, air traffic controllers, and immigration officials.
The summit is expected to result in concrete action plans to address the concerns of both airlines and passengers.
