Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has assented the state’s 2025 budget of N606,991,849,118 naira into law.
The appropriation bill was signed after about one month it was presented to the state House of Assembly for consideration.
Professor Soludo while signing the bill christened “Changing Gears 2.0,” at Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, said that the bill prioritizes the five cardinal pillars of his administration with major concentration on infrastructure and human capital development.
The budget which has a capital expenditure of N467.5 billion naira representing 77% of the budget proposal while the recurrent expenditure of N139.5 billion naira accounts for 23% of the budget estimate, amounting to about 48.0% increase from the 2024 budget.
The Governor, while thanking the House of Assembly, represented by the Speaker, Doctor Somtochukwu Udeze, and House Committee Chairman on Finance and Appropriation, Mr. Ejike Okechukwu, for their hard work and the expeditious passage of the 2025 appropriation bill, noted that the budget would fast track development of the state .
The 2025 budget implementation takes effect from January 1 next year.
