The House of Representatives says it will sanction Ministries Departments and Agencies, MDAs, who fail to appear before the National Assembly to defend their Budget.
The Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, Mr. Abubakar Kabiru Bichi stated this in an interview with journalists after meeting with Committee Chairmen in House.
Mr. Bichi explained that President Bola Tinubu had already directed all Heads of Agencies to appear before the National Assembly to defend their Budget in line with the constitution.
He said the kind of penalty to be melted on any organization depends on the response or answers given during the budget defense.
Mr. Bichi, also added that the National Assembly is likely to passed the 2025 Budget Estimate by the end of this month or first week of February
The Chairman House Committee on Appropriation called on the Heads of MDAs to cooporate with the National Assembly to ensure seamless Budget defense.
