The wife of former Deputy Senate President, Mrs. Beatrice Ekweremadu, has been released from prison in the United Kingdom.
According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity, Beatrice, who had been serving a five-year sentence, returned to Nigeria on Tuesday and is currently in Abuja.
Meanwhile, reports from Enugu indicate that her family home is in a celebratory mood following her release.
Ekweremadu and wife, Beatrice as well as Doctor Obinna Obeta, were sentenced in May 2023, by a London court for organ harvesting.
