The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar has dispatched a Fact-finding team to fully investigate the reported incidence of civilian casualties in the recent NAF airstrikes in Zamfara State and provide a detailed report for further action.
This is contained in a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the NAF, Air Vice Marshal Olusola Akinboyewa in Abuja.
The statement says the Air Chief reiterates the commitment of the force to the highest level of professionalism and transparency in the conduct of its operations.
It assures all stakeholders of NAF’s determination to refine its operational procedures to ensure mission accomplishment, while protecting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
According to the statement, the team led by Director of co-ordination and co-operation, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, will liaise and interface with State and Local Government officials, as well as other critical stakeholders, for a holistic assessment of the situation with a view to driving the appropriate response.
