Former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdul’azeez Yari Abubakar says ongoing effort in the fight against insecurity, banditry and criminality will be reduce drastically by 2025 in the North West.
He stated this while addressing newsmen at Talata Mafara local government area of Zamfara state.
Senator Abubakar who is also the Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial district emphasized that, the measures being taken by the government in tackling insecurity in the Northwest is yielding positive results,
He expressed confidence that by next raining season, eighty five percent of farmers in zamfara state would return to their farmlands without fear of any attack to fully engage in farming activities.
“By God’s grace, next rainy season eighty five percent of our farmers will go back to their farmlands because President has promised Nigerians” he added.
According to him, President Bola Tinubu had allocated huge amount of money in the area of security in the next year’s budget, stressing that, such budget allocation has clearly shows his willingness and commitment to end any form of insecurity.
He maintained that the allocation would be utilize judiciously to achieve the desire objective in eliminating any security threat in the county.
“Why I said that is because President in his budget first of its kind in the history of the country, even during the military they did not budget the huge amount for security but this time he allocated most of the budget to security which by God’s grace it’s going to be utilized judiciously so that the issue of insecurity will be a matter of the past.”
Senator Yari expressed confidence that, the ongoing efforts would bring significant relief to the people of Zamfara, particularly farmers who have been adversely affected by the insecurity.
According to him, some communities that are battling with insecurity are now moving freely and normal activities are picking up.
The Senator further revealed that, military has procured more fighting equipments to confront any security threats in the county perticulerly in the Northwest.
“Because Northwest is becoming a territory for criminality and banditry among others”
On the ongoing road dualisation project from Zaria – Funtua- Gusau – Talata Mafara to Sokoto State, Senator Yari said with the 2025 budgetary allocation in the area of Infrastructure the project would be completed on time.
