The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended a suspected notorious cultist, Kingsley Effiong Emmanuel, during a decisive raid in Uyo.
The operation, conducted on January 25, 2025, at Nsukara Offot village along Nwaniba Road, led to the recovery of a locally made pistol reportedly used by the 26-year-old to terrorize the community.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, DSP Timfon John in Uyo.
The statement indicates that, Acting on actionable intelligence, operatives of the Command stormed the residence of the 26 year old Kingsley Effiong Emmanuel, at Nsukara Offot village, Nwaniba Road, Uyo.
“A thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, which the suspect had been using to terrorize innocent members of the public” he adds.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect has been directly involved in disrupting the peace and order of the community and its environs through his criminal activities”
According to the statement, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, commends the officers for their swift action and reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safety.
“Akwa Ibom is no haven for criminals, anyone engaged in unlawful activities will face the full weight of the law” he stresses.
The statement urges residents to remain vigilant and continue providing credible information to support their fight against crime.
