The Federal Government has purchased the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME forms for 500 students in Ekiti state.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students Engagement, Comrade Asefon Sunday Dayo, in Abuja.
The statement says out of the 500 forms, 50 have been allocated to Ado Grammar School, Ado Ekiti while the remaining 450 are designated for indigent students from Ado Ekiti Local Government Area in Ekiti State.
“In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to youth empowerment and educational development, I am pleased to announce the procurement of the first batch of 500 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms” he stresses.
It explains that this initiative is aimed at supporting academically gifted but financially disadvantaged students in the pursuit of their higher education.
“Education remains the most powerful tool for both personal and national development. By eliminating financial barriers to tertiary education just as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has done through the establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide student loans for tertiary education” Comrade Sunday notes.
“We are not only investing in the future of these students but also strengthening the foundation of our nation’s progress” he emphasizes.
According to the statement, this initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President, ensuring that no deserving Nigerian youth is denied access to education due to financial constraints.
“I commend the efforts of all stakeholders who continue to support students’ welfare and educational advancement. It is our collective responsibility to create opportunities for young Nigerians to thrive academically and contribute meaningfully to the society”.
“This is just one of many interventions designed to ensure that our students receive the necessary support to excel”
The statement therefore assures Nigerian students of the present administration’s unwavering commitment to champion and advocate for policies that will prioritize the educational needs of Nigerian students.
