National Board for Technical Education- NBTE in collaboration with Nigeria Defense Academy is carrying out a one week intensive training for Nigerians on CNG conversion skills acquisition.
At the opening ceremony of the training at the Nigeria Defense Academy Center for Innovation and Creativity in Kaduna, the Executive secretary of NBTE, Professor Idris Bugaje stressed the need for bridging the skill gap in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu aspiration of cheeper and alternative energy mix.
Professor Bugaje explained that the young Nigerians participating in the training cut across various sectors, institution and private organizations, with local artisans also positioned to acquire the needed skills for self reliance and positive impact to the economy.

He said the federal government is working hard to ensure that the livelihood of Nigerians are improved hence the need for all and sundry to join hands and make their positive contribution.
The Executive Secretary therefore charge the trainees to pay rapt attention and ensure the knowledge gotten is put to use for the good of themselves and the country at large
In his remark, the Academy Provost Nigerian Defense Academy, Professor Isah Garba said the Nigeria Defense Academy as an Academic Institution always collaborate with relevant stakeholders especially in the areas of skills acquisition.
Professor Garba reiterated the impact of the training geered towards enhancing the skill base of the trainees and contribute to the advancement of knowledge base of the nation in line with the federal government mandate.
The professor reiterated that the CNG conversion is very safe and cost effective.
One of the trainees who is a mechanic in Kaduna, Mallam Sani Abubakar express joy with the training opportunity called on government to do more on manpower development .
