In a bid to curb unemployment and equip students with skills to compete in the job market, tertiary institutions have been urged to prioritize practical innovations to drive effective technological development in the education sector.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, who stated at the TETFund National Exhibition Fair in Abuja said these innovations should align with international best practices.
Dr. Alausa emphasized that the core strategy of the Federal Ministry of Education, through TETFund and other relevant institutions, is to focus on technical and vocational studies to revamp the nation’s economy.
On his part, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Mr. Sonny Echono, stated that the agency is committed to fostering innovation and research to transform the landscape of the country’s institutions and revitalise the economy.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, TETFund, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, reiterated the board’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for TETFund to transform the nation’s tertiary institutions into hubs of technology and innovation that would attract investors to the country.
