The focus of Enyimba Int’l FC of Aba will be fully turned to their outstanding domestic fixtures, in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), and their first fixture will be against one of the basement clubs, Nasarawa United FC of Lafia; at the Enyimba Stadium, in Aba, today.
The nine-time NPFL Champions, at the weekend, appeared to have turned a corner, by trouncing Black Bulls FC of Mozambique 4-1, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, in Uyo, on Sunday.
The result which also resurrected the all-round performances of the team, which had their newly hired veteran tactician, Stanley Eguma in the dugout for his second league match; also had former Super Eagles of Nigeria forward, Brown Ideye on; just as he was a late substitute in the 1-1 draw with Bendel Insurance FC of Benin, seven days ago.
Today’s game against Coach Kabiru Dogo tutored Solid Miners is the first of three outstanding fixtures, Enyimba FC will be playing; with two more games against, Kwara United FC of Ilorin, and Kano Pillars FC to follow.
Enyimba are currently in the 9th position in the NPFL table, after playing 16 games, and should they beat Nasarawa United as many would expect; they will move up the table to 7th on 27 points.
Conversely, should bottom club, Nasarawa United upstage the two-time African Champions, by winning in Aba; they will be guaranteed temporary reprieve, by moving up to as far as 15th on the NPFL log, with 22 points.
