The Federal Government has congratulated Joseph Aoun on his election as President of the Republic of Lebanon.
This is contained in a statement by the acting spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, in Abuja
The statement expresses Nigeria’s optimism on strengthening the historic and vibrant ties between both nations for mutual benefits.
Aoun secured 99 votes out of 128 in parliament, ending a leadership vacuum since October 2022.
