250 elderly citizens in Kogi State have benefited from the second edition of the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme, RHIESS.
Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu who made this known at the program in Lokoja, said beneficiaries of the scheme were selected from all the Local Government Areas of the state and were given N200,000 each.
Represented at the occasion by wife of the Governor of Kogi State, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo, Senator Oluremi noted that the RHIESS, with the theme: Total Wellness, was an economic empowerment programme designed to cater for the well-being of elderly citizens, aged 65 and above across the nation.
In her address, wife of the Deputy governor of Kogi State, Mrs Margaret Oyibo, applauded the wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for the Initiative and appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the fund.
In a remark, Director-General, Kogi State Social Investment Agency, Hajiya Oyiza Omade commended the magnanimity of Senator Oluremi Tinubu towards the Citizens of Nigeria and Prayed for God’s protection over her Family.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Grace Olushola and Onalo Usman, thanked the wife of the President for being mindful of the elderly in the Country and promised to use the gesture to improve their lives.
