Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, says his administration maintains a hands-off approach regarding the activities of the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The statement emphasizes that the Gov Yusuf led Administration has never interfered with the commission’s investigations.
“My administration has given the State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission a free hand to carry out its duties without fear, favor, or interference,” the governor declared.
It reiterates commitment to fairness and impartiality in the fight against corruption.
“We are committed to supporting the agency in its efforts to eliminate corruption and ensure accountability in governance.”
The statement describes corruption as a “cancer” that destroys public trust, weakens institutions and impedes progress.
It stresses the need for a collective resolve to eradicate it and called on all stakeholders to play their part in building a transparent and accountable society.
According to the statement, the governor unveiled several new initiatives aimed at strengthening anti-corruption efforts in Kano State.
These include the introduction of the Central Criminal Register Software, the Kano Integrated Governance and Accountability System (KIGAS), and the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Action Plan for 2024–2026.
According to the statement the state’s Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, expresses gratitude for the governor’s unwavering support.
