Christians in Kwara state joined their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Christmas which signifies the birth of Jesus Christ.
Christians were seen trooping out in their number to different worship centers to give thanks to God for sparing their lives to witness the celebration.
In his Christmas message, themed “Joy to the world” the Bishop Diocese of Kwara Anglican Communion, Right Reverend Sunday Adewole said the birth of Jesus Christ bridge the gap that was broken between God and man.
Reverend Adewole urged Nigerians to exercise patience over the economic hardship in the country.
He appealed to government at all levels to do more inorder to ameliorate the suffering of the people.
In his remarks on behalf of the state government, the deputy governor of Kwara state, Mr Kayode Alabi urged the residents to exercise patience over the economic situation in the country.
He said the situation would soon ease up adding that the federal government is working hard to change things for better.
Mr Alabi explained that the state government is also committed to ensuring peaceful coexistence and better economic development.
