As part of measures to ensure a hitch free Christmas celebration, the Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, has directed its officers nationwide to compliment the efforts of formal Security agencies in protecting lives and property during and after the celebration.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on this year’s Christmas celebration, the Commander General of NHFSS, Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin enjoined christians to use the occasion in praying for Nigeria to overcome its security and economic challenges.
Ambassador Osatimehin who described the current challenges facing the country as temporary also admonished Christians to pray for the successful implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda for Nigerians.
While felicitating with them on the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration, the Commander General of NHFSS stressed the need for christians to be security conscious and support security agencies in safeguarding the country.
Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin expressed the hope that with continuous prayers and support of all Nigerians, the country would soon take its rightful place among comity of nations.
“What Nigeria require now is prayers by Christians and non Christians because the country is currently undergoing some challenges in the areas of security and economy which I believe that the country will overcome one day because most great nations of the world passed through same difficulties therefore Nigerians should unite and support President Bola Tinubu’s led administration irrespective of religion, bribe and political differences to enable the country takes its rightful place among comity of nations ” He stated.
Ambassador Osatimehin used the opportunity to call for the integration of NHFSS in Nigeria’s Security Apparatus through the signing of its Bill by President Bola Tinubu into law to further ensure the actualization of his renewed hope agenda in the area of security.
“NHFSS Bill is presently before President Bola Tinubu for signing into law and this we believe when its done will further strengthen the nation’s security apparatus and give us necessary legal backing that will enhance our performance in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, boko haram and other forms of crimes and criminality in the country’s forestic areas ” He pointed out.
Ambassador Osatimehin therefore reiterated the continuous support and commitment of NHFSS towards safeguarding lives and property of Nigerians as the Service is well structured, equipped and trained by necessary Security Experts and Organizations both within and outside the country.
