The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Gusau, Zamfara State, Right Reverend John Garba Danbinta has reminded Nigerians to always exhibit love, forgiveness, unity and reconciliation for one another for the progress of the country.
He stated this while speaking with newsmen in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital shortly after the Christmas service on the significance of the Christmas day celebration.
Reverend Danbinta emphasized the need for Nigerians to always see themselves as one and urged them to shun discrimination.
“The Special message is that we all need to come back to God, we need to repent, we need to forgive one another as God has forgiven us” he added.
He pointed out that, love and unity are some of the major ingredients that can drive national development.
“We are people without hope but Jesus has forgiven us and we also need to forgive one another especially in this Nigeria where we have had problems and challenges, we need to come back to God as one people to build our country Nigeria.”
“How can we be where we ought to be until we decide Christians and Muslims begin to love one another, begin to show that we are all human beings, nobody came to this world by themselves.”
Reverend Danbinta stressed the need for the Muslims and Christians to join hand together to build the country irrespective of their differences.
The clergyman called on the Federal and Zamfara State governments to take more measures to address the challenges of insecurity to enable farmers to fully engage in farming activities next year.
According to him the current poverty level in the society is beyond description, hence the need for the government to do the needful to ease peoples hardship.
“Our leaders should always think for the masses, the people that brought them where they are, they should not forget them, they should do everything they can do to build this country perticulerly Zamfara State because we have bedevelling with issue of insecurity, some people are not free to go to their farms”
Reverend Dangarba added that, the importance of Christmas day celebration cannot be over emphasized among all the faithful.
