President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country is on a promising path of restoration and progress.
In his Christmas message, the President notes that every indication is pointing towards a bright future, urging Nigerians to, in the spirit of the season, renew their hope and belief in a prosperous Nigeria.
He says as Christians celebrate the blessed season, they should be kind to their kith and kin, neighbours, and other classes of people needing support.
President Tinubu reiterates the expression of his sadness over the recent tragic events in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, saying that his thoughts are with those who continue to suffer from these heartbreaking incidents.
While praying that such misfortunes do not revisit the nation again, the President condoles with families enduring pain and loss from this year’s incidents of flood, fire, and accidents.
He urges them to find comfort and solace in their faith, the support of loved ones, and the abiding presence of Jesus Christ, emphasising that the Compassionate and Merciful God stands with the weak, the brokenhearted, and the sick.
President Tinubu says Nigerians must also honour troops, who risk their lives to safeguard the nation, adding that they deserve prayers and steadfast support.
He also calls on Nigerians to extend similar support and prayers to the nation’s leaders, noting that with their backing, leaders can serve the country diligently and strive for prosperity.
President Tinubu extends his heartfelt greetings to Christians across Nigeria and worldwide as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, as narrated in the Holy Scriptures.
“Christmas embodies the fulfilment of divine prophecy and symbolises the triumph of love, peace, and unity. It is a poignant reminder that light can emerge even in the darkest times, bringing solace and hope. This belief resonates with people of all faiths. Indeed, God is with us”, the observes.
President Tinubu wishes journey mercies to those travelling during the festive period.
He gives the assurance that government is taking necessary steps to ensure transportation routes are secure and convenient.
He also reiterates the government’s provision of free train services and subsidised road transport costs on 144 routes nationwide to ease their journeys.
