The Federal Government says many state governments and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration will comply with the payment of new National Minimum Wage by January 2025.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Muhammad Dingyadi, stated this when he received the delegation of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria in Abuja.
Dingyadi, gave assurance that the states that are yet to comply would do so in the coming year.
The Minister said based on information received, four or five states were yet to comply with the payment of new minimum wage while some have.
The Minister said the FCT will comply with the new minimum wage by January next year.
Earlier, the President of the Association, Comrade Shehu Mohammed, sought the Minister’s intervention in the matter of non-remittance of the union’s check off dues by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, as well as other issues of concern.
Comrade Mohammed lauded the Ministry for maintaining harmonious relations with labour unions.
