The Head of the ECOWAS Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Ghana, former Vice President Namadi Sambo, has arrived in Accra.
His visit comes ahead of the country’s Presidential Election scheduled for December 7.
Alhaji Sambo was received by key officials, including the ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security Amb. Abdel-Fatau Musah, ECOWAS Resident Representative in Ghana Amb. Mohammed Lawan Gana and Ambassador Dayo Adeoye, Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Ghana.
The mission is part of ECOWAS’ efforts to uphold its Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance, adopted in 2001, which supports member states in conducting credible elections.
The delegation is led by Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, President of the ECOWAS Commission.
