At least 190 projects has been embarked upon by Kwara state government across the three senatorial districts from 2023 till date .
The state commissioner for works and transport, Abdulquawiy Olododo made this known while featuring on the 45th edition of media interaction organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kwara state council, in Ilorin.
He said the state government has also paid counterpart fund to the federal government to construct 209.77Km road in the state.
The commissioner said the projects ranges from road rehabilitation and total reconstruction to make movement easier for the residents.
Olododo explained that some of the roads constructed included 21km road in Esie,12km road in Ajase -Ipo , rehabilitation of 2km road from Omu Aran to Oko,and 5km road from Oko to Oro-Ago ,Ilesha Baruba Gwanara road among others.
He said most of the projects have been completed while others are near completion.
Olododo said the state fire service under the ministry has been able to save 17 billion naira worth of property from fire incident while about 817million naira was lost to inferno during the period.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists Kwara state Council, Comrade Ahmed Abdullateef said the urban renewal projects embarked upon by the state government has changed the status of the state .
He commend the state government for opening up the state for business activities.
