As the festive season comes to an end, government offices in Lagos have reopened for business following the Christmas break.
However, a significant number of workers have yet to return to their desks, leading to a subdued atmosphere in many offices.
A visit to the Lagos airports today observed a slow start to the workweek. Government offices were open, but staff presence was minimal.
Workers who were present appeared to have little to do, with many seen entering their offices aimlessly.
In contrast, most private offices in the airport vicinity were fully operational, reflecting a quicker return to business as usual for the private sector.
