The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has been certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for meeting the rigorous standards of ISO 9001:2015.
With this certification, NAMA has joined the ranks of organizations worldwide that have demonstrated their dedication to quality management and customer satisfaction.
Speaking at the certificate presentation ceremony at NAMA’s headquarters annex in Lagos, the Managing Director, Mr. Ahmed Farouk, represented by the Director of Air Traffic Services, Mr John Tayo, expressed pride in this achievement, which is a mandatory requirement of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS).
According to him, the certification was awarded after a thorough audit by ISO representatives, who assessed various aspects of NAMA’s operations, including its five international airports, Aeronautical Information Services, Charts and Aeronautical Publications, personnel competencies, working tools, office environment, and documentations.
“This certification is a renewed assurance to airlines and other stakeholders that we are poised for excellence as we work assiduously towards enhancing the safety and reliability of the Nigerian airspace”.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is expected to enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that NAMA’s products and services are timely, reliable, and have a lower error rate.
Mr. Farouk noted that, this achievement is a significant milestone in NAMA’s quest to raise the bar in air navigation service provision and demonstrates its commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
