Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has approved the appointment of none indigene Mr. Benson Ojeikere as the New Head of Service of the State Civil Service.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu says the appointment takes effect from December 31, 2024.
According to the statement, his appointment follows the conclusion of a rigorous merit-based selection process of the present administration in the state.
The statement explains that Mr. Benson Ojeikere until his recent appointment was the Abia state Government House Permanent Secretary.
While congratulating the new Head of Service Mr. Benson Ojeikere on his appointment, Governor Otti appreciated the immense contributions of the outgoing Head of Service, Dr. Ngozi Queen Obioma who is proceeding on statutory retirement after meritorious year of service.
The statement says since the history of Abia state, Mr Benson Ojeikere is the none-indigene of the state from Edo state to attain this height in the state civil service.
