Former Senate President and current Senator representing Yobe North, Senator Ahmad Lawan, has paid a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State to commiserate with him over the tragic deaths of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Umar Namadi, and son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.
Jigawa State was thrown into mourning following a double tragedy that struck Governor Namadi, who lost his biological mother and first son within 24 hours.
Senator Lawan arrived at the family residence in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area at 10:01 a.m., where prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased.
A statement signed by his Media Adviser, Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, describes the incident as a heart-wrenching loss and offered prayers for strength and comfort for the Governor’s family.
“This is a devastating moment for Governor Umar Namadi and his family, Losing both a mother and a son in such a short time is a heavy burden to bear” he adds.
“Hajiya Maryam was a remarkable woman of faith who inspired many, and Abdulwahab, at just 24, had a promising future ahead of him before his tragic death in a car accident on Thursday, December 26, 2024″
“I pray Allah (SWT) grants the Governor and his family the strength to endure this painful period and may the departed rest peacefully in Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen.”
According to the statement Senator Lawan urges the Governor to take solace in the outpouring of love and prayers from well-wishers across the country.
