The Southern Caucus of the House of Representatives has declared their support for the Controversial tax reform Bills.
Addressing journalists in Abuja the leader of the Caucus and the member representing Bomadi Patani South Federal Constituency of Delta State Mr. Nickolas Mutu, explained that the decision of the Caucus to welcome the bills was because of the potential economic benefits to the country.
Mr. Mutu said dialogue is ongoing to reflect and captured the interest of Nigerians in the Bills.
A member representing Sagbama Ekeremor Federal Constituency of Bayelsa State, Dr. Fredrick Agbadi, emphasized that the Caucus are in consultation with Stakeholders for necessary inputs into the bill before passage.
Another member of the Caucus, a member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State Mr Babajimi Benson said the house would always stick to the rule of law in all processes involved in the passage of any bill
The Tax reform Bills which has generated series of controversies across the country with people expressing divergent opinions were presented to the National Assembly in October this year.
