The Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Kalu says strong efforts are ongoing to secure the release of the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
Mr. Kalu made this known during a meeting with South East Legislators Forum made up of lawmakers from 5 State Houses of Assembly from the South East region
The Deputy Speaker explained that a lot is being done behind the scene with the appropriate authorities for the release of the IPOB leader.
Mr. Kalu while expressing optimism that the result of the meetings will soon materialize, called for unity and synergy amongst the political leaders in the south east region.
“As members of the South East legislative forum, you need to be strong and have a common legislative agenda. Birth an idea and think of how we can utilize it”
He also called for support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that the government means well for Ndi Igbo and Nigerians in general.
In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, the Majority Leader of Ebonyi State House of Assembly Mr. Kingsley Ikorohim said courtesy visit was for solidarity and pledge their homage to the Deputy Speaker as the political leader of the South East region.
