Governor Monday Okpebholo has sworn in the three outstanding state High court Judges.
Ojo Maureen Osa, Godwin Jeff Okundamiya and Edoghogho Eboigbe.
Governor Okpebholo performed the swearing in of the three Judges at the Festival Hall, of Government House, Benin City.
The three Judges , Ojo Maureen Osa, Godwin Jeff Okundamiya and Edoghogho Eboigbe who took their oath of allegiance were among the eight candidates cleared and recommended for appointment as Judges in the State Judiciary by the National Judicial Council in June 2023 but were however left out during the swearing in process in May, 2024 by the Administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Governor Okpebholo had during his swearing in on November 12th pledged to strengthen the principles of separation of power as enshrined in the Constitution.
Responding on behalf of the three Judges,Justice Ojo Maureen thanked the former chairman of Edo state judicial service Commission, retired Justice Joe Acha for their nomination into the National Judicial Council NJC.
Present at the swearing in Ceremony were the Deputy Governor of the state Mr Dennis Idahosa, Secreatary to the Edo state Government, Alhaji Musa Ikhilor,Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Gani Audu,Head of service, Dr Anthony Okungbowa and a former Deputy Governor of the state Comrade Philip Shaibu as well as friends and well wishers.
