The Abia State Government has announced changes in the management of Enyimba FC as part of efforts to improve performance in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Metu confirmed that Emmanuel Detchuoa has been appointed as the club’s Technical Adviser, while Daniel Eke takes over as Sporting Director, replacing Ifeanyi Ekwueme and Deji Ayeni, respectively.
The appointments take immediate effect.
Some supporters, known as the “Colombia fans,” used the occasion to call for the removal of Chairman Nwankwo Kanu and the appointment of a new chairman.
Daniel Eke expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti for the appointment, pledging to work towards stability and improved results for the team.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Nwaobialor Ananaba, assured supporters that the government remains committed to restoring Enyimba FC’s top position in the league and urged fans to support the new management team.
The deputy governor also revealed that the club’s Accountant-General will soon be replaced, though no official name has been announced.
