The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to operational readiness and strategic partnership with Enugu State Government.
During a two-day operational visit to the Nigerian Air Force Ground Training Command and other units in Enugu, the Air Chief engaged Governor Peter Mbah in discussions aimed at enhancing security and development in the state.
A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, says the visit is part of efforts to strengthen training standards, boost operational capacity and deepen civil-military cooperation.
At the Government House, Air Marshal Aneke commended the Enugu State Government for its support to NAF personnel, particularly in the areas of accommodation and infrastructure.
He described ground training as critical to effective air operations, noting that well-trained technical and support personnel are key to mission success.
The Air Chief also outlined plans to improve personnel welfare through housing and agro-allied initiatives, while reaffirming intelligence-driven collaboration with other security agencies to sustain peace in the South-East.
In his response, Governor Peter Mbah assured the Nigerian Air Force of continued partnership, including land allocation for resettlement housing and agricultural projects.
He emphasized that security and development remain inseparable priorities for his administration.
The visit featured an operational briefing and inspection of training facilities at the Ground Training Command, with the Air Chief expressing satisfaction with ongoing reforms aimed at building a future-ready Air Force.
