Ambassador-designate and widow of former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has declared that the 2027 general elections in Oyo State will be keenly contested.
Ajimobi, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, made the declaration while addressing journalists at a political gathering in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
She described the forthcoming elections as a “battle” and insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, must be removed from power in the state.
According to her, the APC is fully prepared to challenge the PDP at both the state and federal levels, expressing confidence in the party’s strength and support base.
Ajimobi also claimed that the APC enjoys strong backing at the federal level, which she said would counter any advantage held by the opposition in Oyo State.
Her comments have continued to generate reactions online, with some Nigerians cautioning against the use of war-like rhetoric in the country’s democratic process, while others view the remarks as a show of political resolve ahead of the 2027 polls.
