The Amalgamated Southern Nigeria Youths Forum has described the call for removal of the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, by the Arewa Youths Assembly over the alleged sexual harassment as dead on arrival.
President of the Forum, Mr. Oleh Victor stated this at a news conference in Abuja.
Mr. Victor said the alleged claim by the Arewa youths that the North has benefited nothing from government since Sen Akpabio became the Senate president is untrue, describing it as another false allegation like the sexual harassment allegation.
“We stand by the Senate president, His Excellency, sen Godswill Akpabio: The Plan to Remove Sen Akpabio from office as Senate president by some Northern elements through False allegation of sexual harassment has failed. It is dead on arrival, ” he added.
“We have seen very clearly that the plan to remove the Senate president is an agenda by some Northerns that was handed down to Senator Natasha to execute but they have failed woefully as the planned sexual harassment acusation is now dead on arrival” Oleh stated.
“One can see very clearly that what ordinarily should have been the affairs of the Senate has become affairs of some Arewa people using their youths to dictate to the Senate on what to do.”
According to him, the 2024 and 2025 budgets were loaded with a lot of projects for Northern Nigeria.
“In fact, so many bills have been passed in favour of Northern Nigeria, which includes the Noth Central Development Commission bill, which was passed under the leadership of Sen Akpabio and assented to by Mr President. One can see that Senator Natasha and her sponsors are not been fair” .
The President of the Forum therefore urged the Arewa Youths and Sen Natasha to stop harassing Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Mr. Victor further warned that if the Arewa Youths carry out their threat of shutting entrance to the northern part of country, they will block all oil owners from taking the oil from the southern part of the country.
“We strongly support Sen Akpabio against the politically motivated sexual harassment naration by senator Natasha.
