Ahead of governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, the National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has urged stakeholders to chose a candidate through consensus.
Speaking while hosting a support group of the party known as Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, Dr Ganduje said this would strengthen party unity and ensure it’s victory at the polls.
He pledged to present an award to Anambra APC if they could be united and produce a consensus candidate.
The APC Chairman also appealed to aspirants jostling for ticket, to use their resources in building the party in the state rather than scatter it.
Ganduje assured that his leadership will ensure a free, fair and credible primary election in the state.
“All of the aspirants are educated and rich. We have told them that this time around, business should not be as usual. Let us support the system. We know they are very rich, they have a lot of money, but they should not use the money to scatter the state. They should use the money to develop the state and the APC.
National Coordinator of the Booth 2 Booth with Bola Tinubu, Mr Iyke Madu, urged the leadership of the party to adopt an indirect primary method for the election since the constitution provides for that.
