The All Progressives Congress, APC, has dismissed reports suggesting that Vice President Kashim Shettima may be replaced as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the APC described the claims as speculative, untrue, and baseless.
The statement, signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the reports were being driven by rumour-peddlers seeking to sow discord and confusion.
The party noted that while political activities remain restricted under electoral laws, its current focus is on supporting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in delivering the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The APC urged media organisations to exercise professionalism and avoid amplifying unverified reports.
It also cautioned ministers, senior government officials, and party leaders against making comments that could fuel unnecessary speculation.
According to the party, ongoing reforms under the Tinubu administration are aimed at transforming the economy and improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
