A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, Abdulmajid Danbiliki, has warned that his group may support the Kwankwasiyya Movement if the party denies Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, the APC governorship ticket for the 2027 election.
Danbiliki made the remarks following the resignation of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf from the New Nigeria Peoples Party and his subsequent return to the APC.
While welcoming the governor, he stressed that if Barau Jibrin is sidelined, they would rally behind Kwankwaso’s candidate to challenge the governorship.
He described Senator Jibrin as a key financier and leader of the Kano APC, adding that only Barau’s endorsement could secure their support for Governor Yusuf. Otherwise, they are prepared to mobilize grassroots support in another direction.
