The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, has ordered troops of the 4 Special Forces Command to escalate precision-driven, intelligence-led operations aimed at neutralising terrorists and insurgents across Nigeria.
During his first operational visit to the command in Doma, Nasarawa State, Shaibu emphasised that the era of reactive engagements is over and called for proactive, adaptive, and mission-focused operations to dominate the battlespace.
He stressed that terrorists and violent criminal networks will find no sanctuary within the country’s borders.
The Army Chief received operational briefings from Major General Olurotimi Azubuike Awolo and Brigadier General Umar Faruk Abubakar, expressing satisfaction with the command’s training standards and operational readiness.
He approved the immediate construction of additional accommodation and critical facilities to boost training capacity and troop welfare.
Shaibu reiterated the need for sustained investment in logistics, modern combat enablers, and welfare measures for personnel and their families, ensuring the Special Forces maintain operational superiority.
Analysts note that the directive comes amid a surge in insecurity in North Central Nigeria, particularly in Nasarawa and Niger states, where communities have faced increased attacks by armed groups, reinforcing the need for decisive military intervention to restore stability.
