The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed a strong and unbreakable alliance between the Nigerian Army and the Taraba State Government in their renewed offensive against terrorism and insecurity.
During a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja, General Shaibu emphasised that the Nigerian Army remains committed to supporting civil authorities in maintaining peace and security, noting Taraba’s strategic role in the nation’s security framework.

He commended Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas for his leadership and cooperation, particularly in donating land and providing operational equipment to enhance military operations in the region.
General Shaibu stressed that sustainable peace can only be achieved through strong civil-military collaboration and called for continued partnership, including support for a stable electricity supply to military battalions.

He also urged the public to actively participate in security operations by providing reliable intelligence.
Governor Kefas, in turn, expressed his unwavering support for the Nigerian Army, congratulating General Shaibu on his new role and commending the Army’s professionalism.

He also reaffirmed Taraba State’s commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation and providing further support for the troops deployed in the region.
Both the Army and the Taraba State government remain resolute in their unified push to eradicate terrorism and enhance security across the state.
