Alhaji Adamu Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has resigned as Adamawa State Commissioner for Works and Energy Development following the recent political realignment in the state.
His resignation comes days after Governor Ahmadu Fintiri defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, alongside several members of his cabinet and party structure.
In his resignation letter, Adamu said his decision followed deep personal reflection and expressed appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve, as well as to the people of Adamawa State for their support during his tenure.
The development underscores the ongoing political shifts in Adamawa, where a significant number of commissioners, advisers and party officials have crossed over to the APC, reshaping the state’s political landscape.
