Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has unveiled the official logo for the state’s 50th anniversary, formally flagging off activities to mark the golden jubilee of its creation.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Government House in Bauchi.
Governor Bala Mohammed described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the state’s heritage, unity, resilience and shared progress since its creation in 1976.
He explained that the anniversary logo symbolises unity and inclusiveness, with elements representing the twenty local government areas and a shared destiny.
According to him, the gold colour reflects achievement, while green signifies hope across the state.
The Governor noted that Bauchi’s development over the past five decades was built on sacrifice, collective effort and the resilience of its people, strengthened by diversity and commitment.

He announced a lineup of activities to commemorate the milestone, including special Juma’at prayer sessions, interdenominational church services, public lectures, conferences, cultural displays and a gala night with awards for deserving citizens.
Governor Bala Mohammed urged indigenes and friends of the state, both at home and in the diaspora, to use the celebration as a time for reflection, renewal and shared responsibility.
