The Borno State Police Command has arrested four suspects and recovered a large cache of illicit drugs during a targeted operation in Maiduguri, the state capital.
The arrest was carried out on January twenty-six, by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad and the Social Vice Unit during a raid conducted within the Maiduguri metropolis.
In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crimes in the state.
Items recovered include two hundred and twenty-two wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, as well as quantities of diazepam, exol, D5, and tramadol tablets.
The Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug abuse, trafficking, and other forms of criminality across Borno State, assuring residents of sustained efforts to safeguard lives and property.
Members of the public are encouraged to report suspicious activities to the police through the designated emergency lines.
