extending heartfelt prayers and goodwill to Nigerians, the President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh
The statement explains that the 40 days of Lent which offers individuals a journey of sacrifice, prayer, and charity calls for hope in the nation amidst the hardships.
The statement while Calling for coexistence, appeals to Nigerians to let go of bitterness and extend charity with neighbours while seeking God’s grace for the journey ahead.
“Whether fasting from food or other passions, this season reminds us that we are united as one people under God, connected by our shared struggles and dreams”, he adds.
It stresses that the 40-days journey should be used to deepen love for one another, pray for peace in the land, and work together for a Nigeria where justice and dignity prevail.
The statement also calls for prayers for leaders to govern with wisdom and compassion, for the youth to find purpose and opportunity, and for every individual to rise above division and build a nation which would be a pride of all citizens.
