The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has called on the Tinubu-led administration to redouble its effort to ensure the release of Leah Sharibu who has been held captive by the Boko Haram insurgents for over seven years.
A statement signed by the President of CAN, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, says Leah’s prolonged captivity is a painful reminder of the insecurity plaguing the nation.

According to the President of CAN no sacrifice was too great to bring Leah home.

The statement further calls on the government, security agencies, and all stakeholders to take decisive actions to end the scourge of violence and restore safety to the nation.
It states that Leah Sharibu was among the 110 girls abducted by the insurgents on February 19, 2018 from Government Girls Science and Technical School in Dapchi, Yobe State.
