The Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness has commended President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for nominating Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Director General of the Centre, Dr. Gabriel Nwambu in Abuja.
The statement urges Professor Amupitan to bring his wealth of legal expertise, academic excellence, and administrative experience to mthis crucial role.
“As a respected Professor of Law and a Senior Advocate, his deep knowledge of the law, mparticularly in evidence and governance, is exactly what INEC needs to strengthen Nigeria’s mdemocracy” he stresses
According to the statement, Professor Amupitan is the first INEC Chairman from Kogi State, a minority area which shows inclusivity and national unity”
“To Professor Amupitan, we say congratulations. The nation looks to you to safeguard the electoral process, uphold the rule of law, and restore public confidence in the vote” Dr. Nwambu states.
The statement explains that as Nigeria faces pivotal moments in its democratic journey, citizens are hopeful that this nomination marks the beginning of a new era of credibility, fairness, and peace in our elections.
“We urge the Senate to expedite the confirmation process and stand firmly behind a leader committed to integrity” Dr. Nwambu adds.
