The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), has officially adopted Retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibril as the new Secretary of the Board following his recent appointment by President Bola Tinubu.
The adoption was made during the board’s first sitting in Abuja.
The Chairman of the Board and Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo represented by the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Dr. Ahmed Audi expressed confidence in Jibril’s ability to handle the responsibilities of the role, which include appointment, promotion, and discipline within the agencies under the board’s purview.
In his acceptance speech, Retired Major General Jibril thanked President Bola Tinubu for the appointment, describing it as a recognition of his contributions to national development.
The Secretary called for cooperation from all agencies under the board, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service.
