Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reaffirmed its ability to supply fuel volumes well above Nigeria’s estimated daily consumption.
According to the refinery, it can produce 75 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit daily, exceeding the national demand of 50 million litres; 25 million litres of diesel against a demand of 14 million litres; and 20 million litres of aviation fuel compared with a domestic demand of four million litres.
The company said the surplus capacity provides supply buffers, enhances market stability, reduces reliance on imports, and ensures consistent availability during peak demand or logistical challenges.
Dangote Refinery emphasized its commitment to regulatory compliance and cooperation with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, aligning its operations with national energy security goals and efforts to strengthen domestic refining.
Industry experts note that local refining at this scale is helping Nigeria reduce import dependence, improve supply security, and stabilize downstream fuel markets.
